In the Nehalem Bay area, we have many potential disasters to prepare for — winter storms that knock out phone lines, power and heat; earthquakes and tsunamis that destroy our homes and leave us with mud, water and disease risks; flooding; home fires or wildfires; and more.

How does your family know when it’s ready to respond to and survive any disaster? How will we know when our community is ready to face each type of disaster that might come our way?

Our community will only be fully prepared when each household and neighborhood is prepared, we have trained volunteers ready to respond, and we have drilled and practiced to verify our preparedness.
