Introducing The New Board of Directors

The Emergency Volunteer Corps of Nehalem Bay Board of directors recently reviewed its operational capacity and did some fine tuning to our organizational structure. The organization is now made up of two divisions, Community Preparedness and Emergency Response; this better reflects our core mission, which is to promote a culture of preparedness and during a disaster, support our local first responders.

Key areas that will be reflected in the work we do are new initiatives – outreach to local businesses and civic leaders. Maggie Pollock will be leading the effort with businesses and Heidi Stacks with local representatives; they are supported by Kris Campbell, the Community Preparedness Division Director.

Linda Kozlowski remains the Division Director for Emergency Response. EVCNB is pleased to have Jo Cooper and Lee Hiltenbrand return to the Board. As the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) and Mass Care program leads, respectively, they will be representing the Emergency Response Division.

These two divisions have several programs that are designed to provide training, supplies, and coordination with our community and our many emergency preparedness partners. To have more robust input from these programs, our board structure now includes two board positions for each division with representatives from the programs participating as full board members.

In addition, our community engagement activities – all the materials we produce, our social media presence, and other outreach efforts- have been folded into the Executive Committee. Brad Hart will lead activities related to these responsibilities.
