Despite the unusually beautiful weather, nearly 100 people attended EVCNB’s Anniversary Celebration event on February 4th.

Dr. Jonathan Allan from DOGAMI, gave an educational and engaging presentation about the latest science that informs tsunami evacuation strategies.

Dr. Allan also talked about the NANOOS Visualization System App which can help you find your best tsunami evacuation route. You can find links and information on the website.

President Margaret Steele also took time to celebrate our 15th anniversary with a look back on EVCNB’s history. Brad Hart was recognized as the 2022 Volunteer of the Year for his outstanding technical, communication and leadership skills. The 2022 Bill Harshbarger CERT Award for Leadership and Excellence was presented to the Activation Team: Mark Adamcin, John Beaston, Steve Case and Brad Hart. The team was honored for an App they created that streamlines and simplifies the process to notify volunteers when their services are needed, i.e. when they are “Activated”.
