Regional Partners Unite for Red Cross Shelter Training at Manzanita Calvary Bible Church
The American Red Cross conducted a comprehensive Shelter Exercise at Manzanita Calvary Bible Church, one of the three designated North County EVCNB emergency shelter facilities. Red Cross trainers Jaime and Hannah led the session, guiding volunteers through essential shelter operations and coordination practices.
Tillamook County’s 2025 Great ShakeOut Draws Record Community Participation
Tillamook County residents turned out in unprecedented numbers on October 16 for the 2025 Great ShakeOut—the county’s largest earthquake and tsunami preparedness exercise to date.
Organized by the Tillamook County Citizens Corps Council (TC4) in partnership with local emergency preparedness groups, government agencies, and community organizations, this year’s event marked the third annual countywide ShakeOut drill and the most successful by far.

Nehalem Bay Medical Reserve Corps & CERT Trailers Orientation
A training to orient volunteers to our NBMRC and CERT Trailers was conducted in September 2025.
There were four orientation stations. Volunteer attendees had the opportunity to sign up and orient themselves to any or all stations. Volunteers what have now obtained these new skills will be added to EVCNB’s responder list to be activated when needed.

Two floats assigned to EVCNB were found. We received a $2,000 donation. Thanks to the folks on the beach in Lincoln City that found our floats!

Planning to visit Lincoln City? EVCNB has been assigned a glass float, hidden over the next month along the beaches of Lincoln City! If our float is found and registered, we receive a $1,000 donation!
Shelter and MRC Drill Results
A drill was held at the North County Recreation District (NCRD) on May 3. The NCRD is one of the EVCNB emergency shelters in the Nehalem Bay area.
The exercise scenario included a severe storm with no power, roads blocked, major flooding, no phones or cell tower availability.

Oregon State University Presents Disaster Related Study Results
Oregon State University (OSU) and the Emergency Volunteer Corps of Nehalem Bay presented the results of a disaster related study coordinated by OSU engineering staff.
Emergency Food Stocks
The Oregon Coast can be susceptible to a variety of natural disasters, which could cause us to be cut off from food, water and power for extended periods. Having enough food and water to last for at least 30 days is an important part of preparing for emergencies.
