Meet the KQMI Emergency Broadcast Team
EVCNB, in partnership with the City of Manzanita and All Classical Portland, has a team of volunteers trained to use the KQMI, 88.9 FM, equipment to make emergency broadcasts. EVCNB plans to use KQMI to get important messages out to the Nehalem Bay region when significant emergencies are happening. For example, during the extended power outages last winter, the KQMI team was activated by the Tillamook County Emergency Manager to send messages about local emergency shelter openings.
The team members are, Lori Dillon, Dave Dillon, Mark Kuestner, Mark Adamcin, and KQMI team manager Megan Adamcin (l-r). Currently, test broadcasts are made on the first and third Wednesday of each month at approximately 11am (after All Classical completes its 11 am station call).
