Proposed Measure 29-180 Public Safety Emergency Communications System Bond
If Passed, the Measure Would Upgrade the Emergency Response System for Tillamook County
This November, Tillamook County voters will have the opportunity to vote on Measure 29-180 which, if passed, would modernize the county’s decades old public safety emergency communications system.
First responders rely on this system to communicate with 9-1-1 dispatchers and each other in an emergency. It is currently used by:
9-1-1 Dispatch
Ambulance Response
Local Fire Departments
Sheriff’s Office & Local Police
In an emergency, first responders measure their response in seconds.
Components of the system are 20 to 30 years old and rely on older technology, causing gaps in coverage and inconsistent communication. Upgrading the public safety communications system would provide our emergency responders with a reliable way to respond to emergencies in the county.
